Treasurer (San Clemente, CA)
Mark Matheson

Mark was born in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts as his father was in the Air Force while his mom cared for him and his sister 11 months older.
Mark went to a boarding Academy in Monterey California where he’s known to have earned his tuition by ‘milking cow’s.’
After college at Pepperdine and law school in San Diego he traveled extensively.
Being a self-made man, he worked for Ronald Reagan in Santa Monica and later President George H. W. Bush 43 in the White House in DC. He was able to travel the world before settling down with his wife and their four children. They have found their home close to the ocean in San Clemente, California. They are a family of six with surfing as their passion.
How did he meet Diana?
She proudly calls him Son.

I was born in Homestead, Florida on the Homestead Air Force Base. After moving around, I settled in Huntington Beach, California with my wife, Karen, and our 3 kids. They are grown with families and have given us 4 granddaughters with 1 on the way soon. Although I’m retired, I connected with Diana Timmons through the book, Jesus Plus Nothing, co-written by her, along with several other “apprentices of Jesus” in a small group setting. I’ve also been fortunate to have gone on a trip to Israel with her and others in a small group. I continue to travel to Montana, Michigan, Florida and California to be with family and friends. My passion for life is to know and trust Jesus more each day and to share that hope with every life I touch.

I was 2 years old when my family moved to California from Shelby, Michigan, as my father planted a church in Whittier. Being the baby of 4 siblings, I married my high school sweetheart, Dan, and we were married for 46 years before he left to be with Jesus. I’m a mother, nana, and a Realtor of 36 years in Orange County, but who’s counting? In 1994, I went on a trip to Israel and got to know Diana, and our friendship has grown from there, including encouraging her to pursue her desire to begin this ministry, JOYPlease! A this stage, a big part of my purpose is to encourage and pray for my grandchildren as they are my passion in life. Being a huge football fan, I used to follow the Rams, having season tickets and being active in the Ram Booster Club until they moved to St Louis. Now it’s USC!

Board Member (Nairobi, Kenya)
Shiku Karue
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, I am 1 of 5 siblings and both of my parents were teachers. I currently am the Executive Director of a youth leadership organization called Camp Jasiri, which runs adventure camp programs for youth in the Rift Valley of Kenya. I met Diana on one of her trips to Kenya in 2015 where she had come to visit missionaries in Nairobi, and we have become good friends since. My passion is to grow closer to Jesus with time as I serve others in His Kingdom and to nurture young people rooted in their faith in Jesus and help them lead productive lives of service to others. I am known by my nieces and nephews as “Funtie” which they have decided that I’m the fun aunt! And my favorite word? Banana. It makes me laugh just to say it.

Born in Orange County, California, I find it remarkable that not only do I still live here, but my husband and I bought my childhood home 35 years ago from my folks to raise our blended family of four sons. For many years, my husband and I were in business together creating art in people’s homes. Recently widowed, I continue with our non-profit, Experiential Ministries, which we formed 15 years ago around Spiritual Formation and creativity. I lead retreats and classes in art and Kintsugi. As a “soul care artisan” I’m involved with many creative things as well as living close to 3 families with 7 grandchildren to share fun and adventures with. I love to hike and climb, and having spent so much time on ladders in my earlier life through painting, I end up having just as much fun as my 3-year old granddaughter playing on the playground equipment!

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in South Florida since the age of 10, I have been passionately pursuing Jesus since a life-changing encounter with Him in 1996. For over 12 years, I had the honor of leading countless women’s Bible studies from my home, creating space for authentic connection and spiritual growth.
Today, I serve as the Marketing Director and business owner of Olicore Systems, and I’m also the Founder and Ministry Leader of Dare To Share My Story—an online ministry dedicated to empowering women to share their personal testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
I’m a proud mom of three grown children and a blessed grandma to five amazing grandchildren. I work from my cozy home office, always accompanied by my loyal and lovable fur baby, Oliver, who enjoys his very own spot on my desk, complete with a comfy bed!
